Promoting Your Events and Information at Mary Washington
Effectively reaching the Mary Washington community is essential, whether your target audience comprises students, faculty/staff, or community members. University Communications is dedicated to assisting you in identifying the optimal channel for your promotional needs. No matter which area or platform you choose to share an event, we require a two weeks’ notice. Please review the options outlined below, categorized by audience type.
Student audiences:
- Add events to the myUMW Campus involvement portal, Presence.
- Direct message OR tag the @marywash Instagram to include in the Monday social media roundup
- Share in the SAE weekly.
UMW Community at large (faculty, staff, AND students):
- Submit it to the EagleVision digital screens, or contact communications@umw.edu.
- For your event to appear on the Campus Events Calendar, submit to https://at.umw.edu/ (scroll down to submit an event).
Faculty and Staff only:
- To submit to Eagle Eye (Fac/staff newsletter), go to eagleeye.umw.edu and click on “contribute” at the top right.
Community:
- For large events, you may consider promoting via our digital sign at Giant on Emancipation Hwy. For these instances, please share the graphic with Liz Kuvinka (ekuvinka@umw.edu).
- Events that are open to the public can also be promoted through local news stations and the local FXBG Visit Page (per their approval).
Should your event necessitate the creation of flyers or promotional materials, kindly complete the Creative Service Request Form. Our Creative Services team needs a minimum of three weeks to complete a design. For media pitches, please collaborate with Lisa Marvashti via email.
