Marketing
Mary Washington’s Marketing team serves both internal and external audiences around promoting the institution’s brand, enhancing its reputation, and engaging with various stakeholders. This team is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to attract prospective students, as well as to maintaining relationships with current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader community.
Key functions include:
- Enhance the visibility and brand awareness of the University in support of its comprehensive strategic plan
- Lead and develop marketing strategies that position the University to be top-of-mind to various audiences
- Lead advertising objectives and campaigns
- Develop content for multi-media channels
- Create and implement targeted marketing strategies for admissions that result in increased inquiries, prospects, and leads
- Direct the work of external marketing firms and agencies
- Develop communication strategies aimed at effectively conveying the University’s mission, values, achievements, and opportunities
- Oversee the University’s branding in partnership with the Creative Services team
- Lead University-level signage projects pertaining to branding
- Lead and manage the University’s robust social media presence and flagship accounts
- Collaborate closely with other departments such as admissions, development, and academic units to align messaging and goals across the institution
- Connect and collaborate with departments and student organizations on campus in support of retention efforts
- Counsel and consult campus leadership, faculty, staff, and students on marketing and social media related functions
