Recognition & Awards
There are several ways that staff can recognize each other. Please visit Human Resources for the full list of employee recognition programs.
- Issuing #1 Fan cards – The #1 Fantastic Action Noticed colleague recognition program allows employees to recognize outstanding service provided by their fellow employees. This program is managed by Human Resources.
- Issuing WOW Cards – Supervisors may issue Workers of Wonder cards to their employees for outstanding service. This program is managed by Human Resources.
- Green WOW Cards give a cash award of $35 (taxed)
- Nominating an Excellent Eagle – nominate your fellow employees who exemplify the traits it means to be an Excellent Eagle Employee. This is managed by USC.
- Nominating a colleague for the Larry Atkins Award – The Staff Council’s Larry Atkins Award recognizes UMW employees who are the unsung heroes of our offices. Recipients of this award lend a helping hand to their teammates, go above and beyond in each and every while wearing a smile, and set a positive example for others. This is managed by USC and HR.
